Subtraction within 1000
Subtraction within 1000 There are different mathematical operations in math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Subtraction is of the basic and prominent mathematical operation used in every branch of math and life in general. Subtraction is denoted by the sign -and is also called as difference. Subtraction means difference or the amount by which the total quantity is reduced. In subtraction the order in which the numbers are subtracted is very important. If the order of the numbers is changed the answer also changes. Hence subtraction is not commutative or associative. Example 1: Subtract the following numbers and find the answer: 792 - 561? Solution: Given are two numbers 792 and 561 which are both within 1000. Subtracting the numbers 792 + 561. First the ones place is subtracted 2 - 1 = 1. Now subtracting the tens place of the given numbers 9 - 6 = 1. Then subtracting the hundreds place of the numbers = 7 5 = 2. Hence the subtraction of: 792 - 561 = 211. Question: Multiple choice question (Pick the correct option.) What is the difference when the two numbers 695 and 382 are subtracted? a) 313 b) 963 c) 343 d) None of these. Correct answer: option a. Explanation: Here the two numbers 695 and 382 are given. Subtracting the ones place 5 - 2 = 3. Subtracting the tens place 9 - 8 = 1. Adding the hundreds place 6 - 3 = 3. Hence, subtracting the numbers 695 - 382 = 313.
Volunteering With Tutorfair - Snehas Story
Volunteering With Tutorfair - Sneha's Story Sneha S is a registered Tutorfair tutor and has completed a volunteer placement for the Tutorfair Foundation. Read her story below..... Being a Masters student in London usually means long hours in the library, essays that will make your head hurt and one too many existential crises. It also means you yearn to step out of your academic lifestyle and do something different. For me, this welcome respite came in the form of Tutorfair. Having seen advertisements of the company pop up on my social media, I finally decided to give it a go and I am so glad I did. Tutorfair is an educational company that provides you with the opportunity to help tutor students and adults of all ages to improve their subjects. These subjects range from sports to academics and you have the luxury of choosing as many subjects as you wish to tutor once you sign up to this website. Excited and a tad bit nervous, I got down to business and started my own profile on the website which was quite simple, that coming from a technologically challenged person like me, is a big deal ! Once I had signed up, I was greeted with a warm welcome mail and an invitation to a seminar hosted by the company in partnership with Teach First, one of the leading educational organisations attempting to end educational inequality in London. The training day provided two massive benefits. For one, it taught you and educated you, the tutor, about how to improve your teaching skills and your interactions with the students. It also speeded up your verification process on the website. So, on a not so sunny London morning, I headed to the training day, curious and ready to participate in everything it had to offer. It was a wonderful experience to say the least. I was made aware of the huge disparities in education in the city and learnt a plethora of ways to not just intermingle with the students but also make the syllabus more interesting. I got to learn how to pick up on subtle clues about students who might not be coming from the most stable of homes and how to deal with them without hurting or causing harm to the students and also got to practice the newly learned methods. The training day also gave me the chance to network with other tutors who not only came from all different spheres of life but also had loads of experiences of their own to share. The entire day was fascinating and I would do it all over again, if given the chance. Once I had completed the training, I was invited to the Tutorfair office, where I was provided with a more detailed description as to how the company and website works. I understood the ropes of the company and was delighted to stumble across two adorable pets roaming around in the office. Hurray for all the animal lovers !! Amidst talking to the other newly signed tutors and munching on delicious snacks, we were led to a small room one by one where we were videotaped. This video allows for a more personal network between the client and tutor, providing the client with a little more information regarding the tutor they might possibly book. Before I knew it, my profile was live on the website. The company gives the tutors the luxury of choosing the rate per hour at which they would like to tutor and also choose the timings for when they are available. Having one or two or more references makes the profile even more attractive and welcoming and soon, I was caught up in the world of tutoring. There are times when it can get challenging, parents worried about their childrenâs performances might need reassuring and at times even the children need to be constantly reminded that their hard work and dedication will pay off. Providing incentive, confidence and encouragement is key along with a constant stream of patience and motivation. For me, applying to Tutorfair was one of the best decisions I could have made. Not only did it give me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and submerge myself in the world of academics from a different point of view but it also gave me the chance to give back by volunteering and by sharing the knowledge I had amassed. The feeling you experience when your student succeeds is indescribable and irreplaceable, almost like drinking hot chocolate on a very cold day. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy and you canât help but hide that goofy smile and the contagious exhilaration that your student exudes upon succeeding. So go ahead, click on that link and sign up. Give volunteering with Tutorfair a try, I promise you, it will be worth every minute. Get Involved with The Tutorfair Foundation

Mens Guide on How to Dress for a Job Interview
Men's Guide on How to Dress for a Job Interview http://www.realmenrealstyle.com Another thing to keep in mind when opting for dress shirts is size. Ask yourself, how well does the dress shirt fit? You want to make sure your dress shirt is not too loose or tight, everything has to be just right. In terms of what color dress shirt to wear, its absolutely up to you but in my opinion, you should always go with your favorite color.Who knows? Maybe your favorite color is your employers as well. 2. Tie Wearing a tie can earn you respect in the long run and bring a sense of professionalism to ones individual aura. Although it may be arduous selecting the right tie to wear or which method to tie your tie, be sure to stay on top of your game. Regular Tie vs. Skinny Tie Depending on what type of job you are applying for, it may be suitable for you to wear a skinny tie. Skinny ties may be popular in fashion but you arent going to a catwalk, you are going to a job interview. Theres a fine line between looking good and feeling good and its best not to cross that boundary. It is recommended to wear a regular tie at all times because it gives off a more professional look. For job interviews, you should stick with diagonal stripes, solids or minute patterned ties. Does Color Matter? Depending on the type of color tie you wear, you can hint to your employer what kind of personality you have. Red: A dominant color that symbolizes wealth, passion and victory. If you are going to wear a red tie for your job interview, be sure to express your overwhelming determination. Blue: A serene color that symbolizes peace and persistence. If you are going to wear a blue tie for your job interview, be ready to express that you are a hardworking individual. http://www.jobkaster.com Yellow: A radiant color that symbolizes exuberance and creativity. If you are going to wear a yellow tie for your job interview, be sure to express your jovial and outgoing personality. Black: A black tie should only be worn during formal events and special occasions. How to Tie a Tie Here are some example YouTube videos on how to tie a tie correctly! Selecting pants isnt as important as dress shirt and tie because employers only pay attention to what Im wearing on top. The answer is false. If youre going to dress up for a job interview, you want to make sure you are presentable on both top and bottom. The recommended color of pants for a job interview is usually black. http://www.wellbuiltstyle.com Depending on the type of clothes you are wearing (shirt tie), it can be appropriate to wear khakis in order to match the attire accordingly. Always make sure to wear fitted pants; they shouldnt be tight, but rather trim. Well, how can I tell if these pants are too tight for me? According to WB Style, the pockets and the front of the pants should lay flat. Dont: Wear shorts. Wear wrinkled pants. Wear dress pants that dont match the color of your suit. 4. Suit Wearing a suit isnt mandatory but if you are applying for a higher-up position, you should definitely consider it. One thing to keep in mind is that no suit will truly fit you unless you get it personally tailored. Measurements can be everything, even to the slightest inch. You want to make sure everything fits just right. http://www.wellbuiltstyle.com In totality, the suit represents refinement, authority, practicality and class. As stated by Well Built Style, For young men, it represents a transition from adolescence to manhood; for grown men, it solidifies his place in society. Despite the fact that it may cost a little extra out of your pocket for a good quality suit, the investment will definitely be worthwhile. Also if you choose to wear a suit, it should be a solid, dark color such as black, navy or dark grey. 5. Shoes By looking at someones shoes, you can tell an awful lot about an individual and what type of personality that person has. You should consider wearing leather lace-up or slip-on dress shoes. If you are trying to figure out what color to wear, you should go with black, brown or cordovan. Socks Wear solid color socks (preferably black). Wear socks that match your trousers. Dont wear socks that are too flashy in terms of patterned design. Wear socks that dont expose your bare skin. Last Minute Tips: If youre grabbing a quick snack right before an interview, make sure not to stain your pants. For those who accidentally stain their pants, make sure to you use this on the go! Dont forget to wear your favorite cologne! Pop a mint in your mouth for good luck! Always keep it 100 when going into an interview. Lastly, believe in yourself because everyone else believes in you. College Admissions 5 Reasons to Love Your Second Choice
College Admissions 5 Reasons to Love Your Second Choice Coping with college admissions issues: 5 reasons to love your second choice Its that time of year already; students are finding out which colleges they were accepted to and which ones they werent. Some students will be thrilled about the options they have while others might be a little bit disappointed at first. However, students who will be choosing from a list of their second choice schools have a lot to be excited about. They are likely to be a great fit academically and will have a better chance of handling assignments handed out by professors. Students may have had one-second choice school or a list of several, so its important they make the right choice and have a great four-year college experience our private Los Angeles college admissions consultants have a 97% success rate. 1. Finding the right fit The first thing students need to do is take a look at the schools they were accepted to and start to find the right fit. This will include some factors such as choice of major, social opportunities, the living situation, and academic expectations. Students might also look at the teaching staff before they make their final choice. For instance, are they most likely going to be interacting with a TA, a professor, or an adjunct instructor? Theres no perfect school, but theres a perfect fit for each student (READ: Tips From an Irvine Admissions Consultant: 5 Reasons to Love Your Target School). 2. The benefits of a target school Students who choose to attend one of their target schools are quite lucky in that they are going to be academically challenged but not overwhelmed in every aspect of their college experience. The university felt that this particular student was a good fit for their campus and expect them to do well based on their test scores and grades that theyve already earned in high school. Being academically challenged, but not overcome with stress, is a great thing that can help students enjoy all aspects of their academic career. 3. Celebrating your new adventure Some students may have had their heart set on their dream school and, as a result, havent really spent a lot of time thinking about the benefits of their target schools. Students might be choosing between three or four schools and should think about the new adventure they get to go on. Are they going to be staying close to home near family and friends? Will they be moving to a new state for the first time in their life? What will they choose for their major field of study and their eventual career? Going on this exciting new adventure is something students should celebrate. 4. Exploring potential majors Many students apply to university as an âundecidedâ major which means they now get to start exploring all of the different possibilities for their future. Students are encouraged to take a variety of classes during their freshman year so they can decide which topics theyre really interested in and which ones they can cross off the list. Additionally, students are encouraged to go over the practical elements of potential choices with an academic counselor. Its important to know if a student needs a four-year degree or Masters degree to enter a particular field and how much theyre going to be making as a recent grad. 5. Social life on campus Another thing students should think about as they make their final college admissions decision is what their social situation will be like once theyre living on campus. Will they be living in a dorm or off campus? What sort of opportunities will they have to join in on social clubs or organizations? Will they want to join a sorority or fraternity once they become a sophomore? There are so many options for students to social network and enjoy a well-rounded college experience, and its something they should consider before making their final decision. Five Foods For Thought
Five Foods For Thought This is what you should eat when there's a test to beatFinals week diet in my college apartment was simple, predictable, took days to return to normal sleeping patterns afterwards, and took months to work off. It went a little something like coffee and pop tarts for breakfast, coffee and cheap hamburgers for lunch, Dr. Pepper, pizza and dark chocolate MMs for dinner and midnight snack. Nutrition experts agree with the coffee and dark chocolate, but would like me to talk to you about some better alternatives than whatever you manage to scrape from the bottom of the fryer. 1. CaffeineYes, it does help you focus. Yes, it must be taken in moderation or else youâll start your presentation by screaming, âOHMIGODYOUGUYSHI!â As the saying goes, everything in moderation. Energy drinks have more caffeine than soda has more caffeine than coffee has more caffeine than tea has more caffeine than (dark, specifically) chocolate. I donât care what anyone says, 5 Hour Energy still freaks me out. 2. FishNobody wants to be that guy in the crowded room with the tuna sandwich, but if itâs a serious study group and/or tutoring session, everyone should be eating one. Itâs the fatty acids, you understand, such as Omega-3 acids found in all fish which help build concentration. Itâs also good for your heart, which dictates blood flow, which is essential to concentration. So, essentially, fish are double threats.3. Fruits and BerriesWell, specifically, fruits and berries that are high in anti-oxidants, such as apples, pomegranates, and blueberries. No, that does not extend to their martini versions, which are the opposite of helpful.4. NutsNuts are the pearl earrings of the nutritional world â" you can pair them with anything and they work great! They work particularly well with berries and chocolate. Try them with fish, too, if you think you have time for a proper meal. In fact, nuts have the same deal as fish. They are high in fatty acids and unsaturated fat, which is good fo r both heart and brain function.5. Whole GrainsWhite bread is bad for you, and not just because you now have to cut off your own crusts. Whole grains contain folic acid and niacin, which are crucial to developing and maintaining focus. Yes, processed flours do add in some niacin, but thereâs still no source like the original. Suck it up, people, eat the husk.Note: This post was written by Megan Ybarra
